About UK News Lens
A UK-focused news discovery project built to help readers compare headlines, sources and editorial perspectives in one place.
UK News Lens is an independent UK headline discovery platform. It brings together live headlines from a range of UK publishers, broadcasters, agencies and opinion-led sources so readers can quickly see how different outlets are covering the news.
The goal is not to tell people what to think. The goal is to make it easier to compare what different publishers are saying, which stories they prioritise and how headlines are framed.
Why it exists
Most people only see news through a handful of sources, social feeds or algorithms. That can make it difficult to know whether a story is widely covered, narrowly covered, ignored by certain outlets or framed differently depending on the publisher.
How source labels work
Source labels on UK News Lens are broad editorial guides. They are designed to help readers explore a wider range of perspectives, not to make a judgement about every journalist, every article or every individual headline.
Where possible, labels should be checked against public information, editorial positioning and established media-bias reference projects. Labels can change over time as publishers change editors, ownership, output or editorial direction.
What UK News Lens does not do
- It does not rewrite original publisher articles.
- It does not claim every article from a source has the same political leaning.
- It does not replace reading the original article from the publisher.
- It does not tell readers which source to trust without checking further.
Our aim
UK News Lens is built to make the UK news landscape easier to scan, compare and understand. It should help readers spot patterns, discover sources they may not normally read and make more informed decisions about what to investigate further.
